Pilot-Operated Solenoid Valve
For Process Liquid Applications Requiring High-Flow Capacity and High Back-Pressure Capability & High Pressure Capability. Series PS Pilot- Operated Solenoid Valves are designed for applications requiring high-flow capacities and high pressure capabilities. Particularly for applications where high back-pressure (up to 70PSI) are found. Example: controlling flow to spray systems, high-pressure chemical injection, etc. The maximum inlet pressure for this valve is 140 PSI depending on temperature, and the valve requires a minimum pressure differential of 5 PSI to operate. The PS series solenoid valve is pilot-operated and normally closed by design. It requires line pressure and flow for operating assistance. Liquid pressure above the diaphragm is vented through the open orifice of the pilot valve to the downstream piping. At that moment, the inlet pressure under that diaphragm lifts the diaphragm and opens the main valve orifice, thereby permitting fill flow through the valve. PS series solenoid valves are contrcuted of Type 1 Grade 1 PVC, Corzan™ CPVC Polypropylene and PVDF Kynar®. Seal materials are EPDM or FKM depending on the service requirements.
Features - Normally closed, in-line design with bubble-tight shut off. High flow rates - Cv factors of 5.2 for 1/2" pipe sizw to 80 for 3" pipe size. Unique design PTFE Bellows barrier type dynamic seal prevents leaking of fugitive emissions to atmosphere. Rugged thermoplastic construction is resistant to both internal and atmopsheric corrosion. Materials available to handle acids, caustics, and solvents. Energy efficient, molded 11 watt coil with standard DNI connector.
Pressure ratings shown above are the maximum allowable inlet pressure for the solenoid followed by the maximum allowable back pressure @ 73°F. PS series solenoid valves require a minimum of 5 PSI line pressure to operate and require a minimum of 5 PSI differential between upstream and downstream pressures.
